​I started my beauty career in 1977 as a Saturday girl on the Revlon counter in Lewis's department store in Leeds before training as a make up artist, then an actress at LAMDA, where I completed three further years of make up training.​

​

I made my mother up on hundreds of occasions throughout her long life and was fascinated by the way her face changed with age, always beautiful, just a little different.

It's easy to make up a young face but with age comes different concerns requiring techniques and advice from someone with the experience of ageing.

​

In a career that's spanned nearly 50 years, my abiding interest has always been the aging face.

 I'm passionate about giving women confidence in themselves, which is why I opened Dr. Boo in 2005.

​

My speciality is a rounded approach to beauty and the individual, whilst my extensive work on stage and screen puts me in a unique position to advise on presentation in the workplace - be it in front of an audience or on camera.

​

At Dr. Boo we take beauty, but not ourselves, seriously.
